OUTPUT CONTROL DEVICE AND OUTPUT CONTROL METHOD FOR WINDMILL

[Problem] To provide an output control device and an output control method for a windmill which are capable of suppressing the overshoot and undershoot of an output with respect to an output upper limit and capable of causing the output of the windmill to rapidly get near the output upper limit. [Solution] An output control device for a windmill is provided with: an output difference calculation unit (52) which finds a difference (Xpresent) with respect to an output of the output upper limit (Plimit) of the windmill; a maximum output rate setting unit (50) which sets the maximum output rate (V) of the windmill according to the magnitude of the difference (Xpresent); an output command value calculation unit (44) which calculates an output command value (P*) such that the output rate (V*) of the windmill does not exceed the maximum output rate (V); and an output control unit (30) which controls the output of the windmill on the basis of the output command value (P*). Within the range in which the absolute value of at least the difference (Xpresent) is a threshold value or less, the maximum output rate setting unit (50) sets the maximum output rate (V) to a larger value as the absolute value of the difference (Xpresent) becomes larger.
