PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To omit a coupling optical waveguide.SOLUTION: An optical element comprises: an optical waveguide 12 having a core 12a and a clad 12b. The optical waveguide includes: an optical resonance section 14 with a first and a second ring-shaped optical waveguides 14and 14. One of the first and the second ring-shaped optical waveguide is a discrete ring-shaped optical waveguide having a first and a second end section 14a, 14b, and the other is an endless ring-shaped optical waveguide. A first optical coupling section 14a includes an optical waveguide part corresponding to the first end section of the discrete ring-shaped optical waveguide and an optical waveguide part 14a of the endless ring-shaped optical waveguide corresponding to the first end section. A second optical coupling part 14b includes an optical waveguide part corresponding to the second end section of the discrete ring-shaped optical waveguide and an optical waveguide part 14b of the endless ring-shaped optical waveguide corresponding to the second end section. |
