PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an own vehicle position detection device and a method therefor capable of determining a photographed direction to accurately calculate a position of an own vehicle.SOLUTION: An own vehicle position detection device 1 comprises: a photograph section 2 for photographing a parking space from the own vehicle to output a road surface image of the parking space; a target mark detection section 5 for detecting a position of a target mark placed on a road surface of the parking space from the road surface image; and an own vehicle position calculation section 6 for calculating a relative position between the parking space and the own vehicle on the basis of the position of the target mark. A target mark 4 detected by the target mark detection section 5 includes two or more circular marks, the circular marks each have distinguishable patterns, and at least two of the circular marks are widthwise and separately arranged at a vehicle approach side of the parking space. |
