PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a thermal barrier coating material that has a top coat layer having both a porous structure and a vertically cracking structure.SOLUTION: A method for producing a thermal barrier coating material including an under coat layer 2 and a top coat layer 3 on a heat-resistant substrate 1 sequentially includes: a top coat layer forming step of thermally spraying ceramic powder and a predetermined amount of resinous powder onto the under coat layer 2 under a predetermined thermal spray condition to form the top coat layer 3; a crack forming step of forming a crack 5 extending in a thickness direction on the top coat layer 3; and a pore forming step of heating the heat-resistant substrate 1 after the crack forming step to form a pore 3 in the top coat layer 2. |
