[Class 53] An accumulator plate comprises a diaphragm f having paste-retaining formations such as fins e and a surrounding frame a. In order to reduce gassing from the active material, the frame is provided with integrally moulded ribs g which project beyond the fins e and the surface of the active material. The plate may be divided into panels by ribs c, d. The ribs g on the top and bottom portions of the frame may be divided, as shown, to allow for the use of glass rod or ebonite fork separators.
