The interior of a helmet carries at the forehead of visual display unit. This includes a microcontroller (4), a light source (6) and an LCD panel (5), both transmitting through a lens system (7) on to a semi-reflecting mirror (3) which can be lowered and inclined at 45 degrees to the wearers eyes. The light source may be uniform for projecting the LCD profile or may transmit data directly through the LCD. More intense light sources can be carried to the optical system via optical fibres. The sytstem is safe, light and compact. USE - As a versatile system worn by a pilot or captain for air, land or water vehicle control.
