[Class 65 (ii)] A hinge pin 15 for a gate is adjustably carried by a member comprising a pair of parts 11 each including a half band 11c with a general radial extension 11b, the two half-band portions embracing the gate-supporting post 18 so that the parts 11 are clamped together on the post with the radial extensions together forming a slot s to receive the pin 15. The two parts 11 may be formed integral with one another, or welded together, as shown, and in the former case may be cut from a length of bar bent at suitable intervals to form curved portions, the resulting cut length being-then bent double at the middle. In the form shown, the parts 11 have short radial extensions 11a to receive a clamping bolt, and the hinge pin 15 is clamped in the slot formed by the parts 11b, which is closed at its inner end by a block 14 welded to these parts ; the gate is carried on the pin by means of an eyebolt 19 passing through the upright of the gate and adjustably locked by nuts. |
