Filter for a fluid vessel

A fluid vessel filter (2) comprises one or more adjustable contact points and/or one or more adjustable legs (5) that support and centralize the filter in relation to the vessel (1). The legs also act to restrict a fluid vortex from forcing settled grit and debris (4) vertically past the filter. The filter may further comprise an integral magnetic source to attract and retain ferritic grit and debris particles passing through the filter. The invention provides a suitable volume of useable liquid for the absorbent material (3) whilst preventing contamination of the material (3) upon reintroduction to the vessel several times without the risk of the filter tilting during use. The vessel (1) may be a bucket and the absorbent material (3) may be a sponge, with the fluid vessel filter being used when washing a motor vehicle or caravan, boat or trailer.
