<p>An indicator, suitable for cyclists, comprises a pair of gloves, each glove 10 comprising a light source 11, a battery 12 and a switch 13. The switch 13, often known as a tilt switch or movement sensitive switch, comprises an elongate channel 14 and a ball 15 constrained therein, the channel 14 being orientated on the glove 10 such that the ball 15 remains at one end of the channel when the cyclist's hand is lowered and such that the ball 15 moves to the other end of the channel 14 when the cyclist's hand is raised so as to activate the light source 11. The glove may also be fitted with a photovoltaic cell for receiving solar energy. The device may also have a second manually operated switch to deactivate the system.</p> |
