<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating electrical machine of small size, light weight, high efficiency, and reliability. <P>SOLUTION: In the rotating electrical machine including a stator and a rotor, an RF-IC chip, a sensor element, a reader-writer, an external antenna, and the like are placed. Power supply to the RF-IC chip and the sensor element in a non-contact manner and a function of transmitting and receiving information in the same manner are also enabled. The rotating electrical machine is controlled by information obtained from them through the reader-writer and the monitoring of state, history, and the like is enabled. The rotating electrical machine includes: the RF-IC chip installed on or in the rotor; the sensor element connected to or integrated with the RF-IC chip; and a signal reader-transmitter that is provided in a position opposite the RF-IC chip and supplies power to and transmits and receives information to and from the RF-IC chip and the sensor element in a non-contact manner.
