[Class 99(ii)] [Also in Group XI] Extruded seamless tubing 1 of light transmitting thermoplastic cellulose derivative or synthetic resin material is provided with integral splines 2, 4 extending into the interior of the tubing, three symmetrically spaced splines extending inwardly farther than the other splines 2 to provide a three point support for an elongated lighting element 3 inside the tubing. The cross-section of the tubing may be circular oval, elliptical, partly parabolic or polygonal of a combination of such shapes and the splines may be radial or non-radial in the case of circular tubing or they may lie along the axes of non-circular tubing. The inner surface of the tubing between all or some of the splines may be facetted as at 6, the facets being formed as longitudinal :ribs of arcuate or angular section during extrusion; the outer surface may also be facetted. The tubing may be coloured by disseminating a dye within the thermoplastic or by dyeing the surfaces only of the tubing. Parts of the tubing may be differently coloured. Advertising matter may be displayed on the tubing. Specification 636,041 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that the cross-section of the tubing may include the shape of any conic section and that more than three splines extend inwardly to support the lighting element. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
