PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce initial unbalance of an armature without adding any special member.SOLUTION: An armature of an electric motor includes an armature iron core 4 having armature windings 10 in slots between a plurality of teeth 4a, a commutator 3 connected to the armature windings 10 and having a commutator piece 13 locking a connecting wire, a shaft 5 supporting the armature iron core 4 and commutator 3 concentrically, an insulator 11a for shaft insulation portion which insulates the shaft 5 and armature winding 10, an insulator 11b for armature iron core insulation portion which is united with the insulator 11a for shaft insulation portion, and insulates the armature iron core 4 and armature windings 10, and the connecting wire which is locked by the commutator piece 13, and provided between the armature windings 10 provided in the slots a predetermined number of slots apart from each other in a peripheral direction of the shaft, and has the armature windings 10 subjected to varnish impregnation processing, two plane cuts having mutually parallel planes in the same shape being formed on an outer peripheral surface of the shaft 5 contacting the insulator 11a for shaft insulation portion. |
