A method for preparing a tin oxide powder, and a tin oxide powder prepared by the method are provided to simplify the process, to reduce the particle size and to improve the uniformity of particle size distribution by adding an oxidizing agent during the reaction of metal tin and nitric acid. A method for preparing a tin oxide powder comprises the steps of (S11) injecting metal tin and water into a reactor; (S12) adding nitric acid to the reactor; (S13) adding an oxidizing agent to the reactor to produce a tin oxide powder; and (S16) drying the tin oxide powder. |
