At least one foil surface of this aluminum foil is roughened. With respect to the arithmetic mean roughness (Ra) of the roughened surface as prescribed by JIS B 0601 (2001), if A is the arithmetic mean roughness (Ra) as measured in the direction perpendicular to the rolling direction of the foil and B is the arithmetic mean roughness (Ra) as measured in the direction parallel to the rolling direction, A and B satisfy the relations 0.15 mum <= A <= 2.0 mum, 0.15 mum <= B <= 2.0 mum and 0.5 <= B/A <= 1.5. It is preferable that 50-1,000 mug/m2 of an oil component adheres to the roughened foil surface. It is preferable that the oil component is a rolling oil. |
