PURPOSE: A mobile device for the visually impaired and an operation method thereof are provided to sense impact or pressure to the side of the mobile device, thereby moving focus between entities displayed on the screen of the mobile device or switching the page. CONSTITUTION: A first decision unit(411) determines a reference object of a reference page run on the screen of a mobile device, and decides an operation signal which positions a focus on the reference object. A first storage unit(430) stores a reference value about impact applied to the side of the mobile device. A sensor(420) senses impact applied to the side of the mobile device. A second decision unit(412) determines impact applied to the side of the mobile device. If the side impact is determined, a third decision unit(413) compares the size of the impact with the reference value stored in the first storage unit. A fourth decision unit(414) determines page switching or focus moving according to the comparison result.
