PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage type water heater which when an abnormality occurs that hot water is not supplied to a hot water supply destination, can precisely determine whether it is an abnormality in a hot water supply control valve or a water stoppage state.SOLUTION: A storage type water heater includes: a hot water storage tank; a water supply flow channel for supplying water from an external water source in the hot water storage tank; a heating means for heating water in the storage tank; a flow rate detecting means for detecting a flow rate of the hot water in the hot water supply flow channel supplying from the hot water storage tank to a hot water supply destination; a hot water supply control valve for opening/closing the hot water supply flow channel; and a control means for determining whether it is an abnormality in the hot water supply control valve or a water supply suspension of the water source based on a detected result of the flow rate detecting means right after an open command being sent to the hot water supply control valve and another detected result of the flow rate detecting means after a specified period of time has passed from the open command being sent. |
