The food processor (1) has a stirring device (8) in a cooking vessel (7), and a heating device (10) is provided for heating a cooking material inside the cooking vessel. The stirring- and heating data are detected and stored, while a torque of the stirring device driven by a motor is detected or calculated based on the values, such as speed and motor current. A certain maximum motor torque is provided for a certain speed, where the rotational speed of the stirring device can not increase, if the maximum motor torque is exceeded. The speed limitation of the processor is selectively activated. An independent claim is included for a method for operating a food processor.
