PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified coal production facility capable of efficiently removing tar without decreasing production amount of modified coal.SOLUTION: A modified coal production facility is equipped with: a combustion furnace 124 for producing heating gas 11; a dry distilled gas feeding pipe 101 for feeding dry distilled gas 14 generated in a dry distilling apparatus 121 to the combustion furnace; a steam generator 125 to which part of heating gas generated in the combustion furnace is fed, and where waste heat gas 13 is generated by heat-exchanging the heating gas; an exhaust pipe 52 for feeding the waste heat gas and low temperature heating gas 12 generated by indirect heating of dried coal by the heating gas at the dry distilling apparatus 121 to the dry distilling gas feeding pipe; a waste heat gas sending pipe 54; a mixed gas sending pipe 55; a blower 126; a mixed gas feeding pipe 56; a mixed gas branching pipe 102; a flow control valve 103 and a mixed gas communication pipe 104.
