A computer and a method for controlling the computer are provided to supply required power for an external device using the computer power in itself instead of using an additional external power supply unit is not required. A computer(100) includes a power supply(110), an interface(120), a storage unit(130) and a controller(140). The interface communicates with an external device. The storage unit stores power level information corresponding to information on the external device. The controller collects the information on the external device, determines a power level corresponding to the collected information and controls the power supply to provide a voltage corresponding to the determined power level. |
