A navigation system and method for reflecting a real time traffic situation by using a push message and a navigation terminal are provided to reduce a data service fee, and improve user reliability for the accuracy of guidance by continuously managing a route while a user is driving. A navigation terminal is connected to a navigation server(S501), and transmits start point and destination information to request route guidance data(S503). The navigation server generates route guidance data of a corresponding optimal route(S505) and downloads it to the navigation terminal(S507). When downloading of the route guidance data is completed, the navigation terminal releases the connection from the navigation server(S509). The navigation server recognizes a change in a traffic situation based on the traffic situation updated in real time(S511) and determines whether there is a node requested to be re-searched among nodes included in the optimal route. If re-search is required, the navigation server determines a re-search node(S513). The navigation server generates a push message including information about the corresponding re-search node(S515) and transmits it to the navigation terminal(S517). Upon receiving the push message, the navigation terminal determines whether the re-search node is a traveling scheduled node. If the re-search node is a traveling scheduled node, the navigation terminal recognizes that the re-search node has not been passed yet(S519). |
