The present invention relates to a method for preparing a Zn4Sb3-based thermoelectric material coated with Mn, and a thermoelectric material prepared thereby. The technical subject is a method for preparing a Zn4Sb3-based thermoelectric material coated with Mn, comprising: a first step of weighing Zn, Mn, and Sb, respectively, according to a composition ratio (Zn4-xMnxSb3 (0<x<=0.1)), and charging the weighed ones in an ampoule in a vacuum state to melt the same; a second step of rapidly cooling the molten material to prepare an ingot; a third step of pulverizing the ingot to prepare a Zn4-xMnxSb3 (0<x<=0.1) powder; and a fourth step of cutting the Zn4-xMnxSb3 (0<x<=0.1)) powder after hot press sintering so as to prepare a Zn4Sb3-based thermoelectric material coated with Mn. In addition, the technical subject of the present invention is a Zn4Sb3-based thermoelectric material coated with Mn, having the composition represented by Zn4-xMnxSb3, wherein 0<x<=0.1. Therefore, thermoelectric performance is improved at a temperature of room temperature or higher, the change in characteristics is not great despite the exposure to a thermal environment, and thermal stability of thermoelectric characteristics can be simultaneously obtained while having excellent thermoelectric characteristics by adding Mn, which is a doping material, to a Zn4Sb3-based thermoelectric material, and thus an excellent Zn4Sb3-based thermoelectric material is prepared.
