The method involves evaluating a situation with respect to suitability for transferring a driving task (FA). The transfer of driving task of a payable occupant (A) to other occupant (B) is released in response to analysis result about the suitability of the situation. The driving task is used during the transfer for autonomous driving of vehicle by a driver assistance system (AS). Autonomous driving is terminated by the driving assistance system after detecting completed transfer and acquisition of driving task by other occupant. An independent claim is included for a motor car with driving assistance system for autonomous driving.
