PURPOSE: Apparatus for detecting the control break module error and safety control of a vehicle controller and a method thereof are provided to guarantee the safety of vehicle controller by detecting the control break module error since the control break module error is checked while a plurality of controllers communicate each other in an embedded system of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: Apparatus for detecting the control break module error and safety control of vehicle controller comprises the following: a control break module (100) arranged in an embedded system of a vehicle; a monitoring part monitoring the operation of the control break module; and a plurality of controllers (30, 40) controlling the blocking operation of the control break module while communicating each other. A method for detecting the control break module error of vehicle controller and safety control is as follows. One controller among the controllers outputs a first executive command for the blocking operation execution to the control break module. The control break module error is judged by the other controller based on the monitoring signal of the monitoring part according to whether the blocking operation of the control break module is executed or not. The other controller outputs a second executive command to the control break module if an error is detected.
