<p>A valve port adapted for use with a fluid regulating device comprising a valve body and an actuator including a valve disc disposed in the valve body and adapted for displacement relative to the valve body for controlling the flow of fluid through the valve body, the valve port comprising a housing comprising a cavity and an annular protrusion; a cartridge disposed within the housing and comprising an inlet end, an outlet end, and an orifice extending between the inlet and outlet ends for allowing a fluid to flow through the valve port, the cartridge adapted for displacement relative to the housing between a first position where the outlet end extends beyond the housing at a location proximate to the annular protrusion, and a second position where the outlet end is retracted into the housing; a spring disposed between the housing and the inlet end of the cartridge and biasing the cartridge into the first position; a primary seat carried by the outlet end of the cartridge and adapted to be sealingly engaged by the valve disc of the actuator when the cartridge is in the first position to stop the flow of fluid through the valve port; and a secondary seat carried by the annular protrusion of the housing at a location proximate to the outlet end of the cartridge, the secondary seat adapted to be sealing engaged by the valve disc of the actuator when the cartridge is in the second position to stop the flow of fluid through the valve port.</p> |
