<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball channel unit and a game machine preventing dropping of game balls in maintenance by switching the passage of game balls to be permitted or blocked, and solving a problem caused by game balls placed on a switching member for the switching. <P>SOLUTION: The ball channel unit 40 includes a first ball passage 41 formed on a game machine frame side, a second ball passage 42 configured to be connected to or separated from the first ball passage 41, and an upper tray shutter member 46 whose state can be changed to a blocking state to block passage of game balls 23 from the first ball passage 41 to the second ball passage 42 or to a permission state to permit passage of game balls. When the upper tray shutter member 46 is in the blocking state, a blocking plate 48 is raised within the ball channel. When the upper tray shutter member is in the permission state, the blocking plate 48 is inclined outward from the ball channel and downward and is retracted.
