A baby swaddling device 100 comprises a body 110 having a first layer 140 and a second layer 141 which are attached along one or both side edges 114. The body 110 has a top opening (120, fig 2) and a bottom opening (131, fig 2) and a pouch 150 at a bottom of the body. A top edge (165, fig 2) comprises at least one closure mechanism (160, fig 2), such as a press stud, for adjusting a neck hole between a closed configuration and an open configuration. The pouch 150 can be formed from a third layer 143 attached to at least part of the first and/or second layer or by upwardly folding the second layer where the second layer is longer than the first layer. The body 110 is made of a stretchable material having breathable and antibacterial properties, such as soft bamboo material or merino wool.
