PURPOSE: A color sorter for grains is provided to minimize times for a converting process by converting the data of red (R), green (G), and blue (B) into the data of hue (H), saturation (S), and lightness (L). CONSTITUTION: A color sorter (100) for grains comprises a camera (320), a signal processor (330), a memory, a first comparator, a second comparator (352), a third comparator (353), and an AND gate (360). The camera films the surface of the grain and outputs an image signal. The signal processor converts the image signal outputted from the camera into the data of RGB and outputs the same. The memory stores the data of HSL previously outputted relative to all RGB data into a lookup table. The first comparator outputs the result comparing the color data outputted from the memory and the predetermined color selecting range. The second comparator outputs the result comparing the saturation (S) data outputted from the memory and the predetermined saturation selecting range. The third comparator outputs the result comparing the lightness (L) data outputted from the memory and the predetermined lightness range. The AND gate outputs the result by the AND operation of outputted signals of the first, second, and third comparators.
