PURPOSE: An air conditioner is provided to prevent damage to a compressor by preventing inflow of liquid refrigerant and lubricating oil from a second compression unit when the compressor is initially operated. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner comprises a condenser which compresses a refrigerant; an evaporator, a compressor(110), an injection pipe(151), and a bypass pipe(180). The evaporator evaporates the refrigerant which passes through the condenser. The compressor comprises a first compression part(114) which compresses the refrigerant passing through the evaporator to the low pressure; and a second compression part(116) which compresses the refrigerant passing through the first compression part to the high pressure. A part of the refrigerant passing through the condenser through the injection pipe flows in the second compression part. The bypass pipe is fractionized from the injection pipe. The refrigerant in the injection pipe or the refrigerant which is discharged from the first compression part is bypassed. |
