PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an application image in a display area corresponding to the characteristics of movement of the entire frame, regardless of the amount of movement of a background image.SOLUTION: For each of a plurality of zones constituting a frame of video image data, a vector activity calculation unit 161 calculates vector activity corresponding to a motion vector, and a coefficient activity calculation unit 162 calculates coefficient activity corresponding to the number of discrete cosine conversion coefficients. A zone activity calculation unit 163 calculates zone activity corresponding to the vector activity and coefficient activity. A zone selection unit 164 selects an inactive zone where the zone activity is minimum, out of all zones. A display area generation unit 165 generates a display area in at least a part of the inactive zone. A display management unit 18 generates display image data compounding application image data in the display area. |
