PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video processing device which precisely determines whether a display device is ready to display a video signal and transmits a video signal to the display device connected to the HDMI output terminal.SOLUTION: The video processing device, which is connectable to a reproduction device, outputs a video signal received from the reproduction device to a display device in a first communication mode and a second communication mode. The video processing device transmits a command to determine whether it can communicate with the display device and, when a response to the command is obtained, determines that the display device can display a video signal transmitted in the first communication mode, and transmits a video signal from a first output unit. This makes it possible to prevent the video output unit of the video processing device from being changed to a second output unit while the display device is ready to receive a video signal output from the first output unit. |
