PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device management system and a device management method, which facilitate setting for establishing a connection between a device installed in a consumer's house and a meter device.SOLUTION: A user in a consumer's house 100 inputs registration data of a device 2 together with identification data such as an address of the consumer's house 100 by using an information terminal to a management device 3 of an electric power company 200, for example, via the Internet. The management device 3 retrieves, on the basis of the input address or the like, a meter number corresponding thereto; and transmits, while employing the meter number as identification data, the input registration data via a second transmission channel 102 to a meter device 1 to which the meter number is allocated. The meter device 1 transmits the received registration data via a first communication channel 101 to a device 2 in the same consumer's house 100. The device 2 collates the registration data received from the meter device 1 with registration data of itself, and when they coincide with each other, establishes a connection with the device 1, which is a transmission source of the registration data. |
