PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support device capable of accurately determining whether a driver is in a state where the driver is easily able to find an obstacle to give no warning so as not to annoy the driver if the driver is easily able to find an obstacle, and immediately give a warning if the driver is not easily able to find the obstacle, thereby achieving comfort and safety.SOLUTION: A driving support device comprises: a radar sensor; a visible light camera; existence area determining means for determining an object existence area on the basis of respective outputs of the radar sensor and the visible light camera; comparison area determining means for determining a comparison area near the object existence area; comparison means for comparing luminance in the object existence area with that in the comparison area; and warning means for giving a warning to allow a driver to recognize existence of the object. In a comparison result obtained by the comparison means, if a matching degree of the luminance is less than a reference value serving as a guideline on whether the driver is not easy to find the object, the warning means will not give the warning. |
