PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a controlling method thereof are provided to automatically initialize a setup of a low power wireless communication module which maintains an active state even in an off state of a mobile terminal if the mobile terminal is turned on. CONSTITUTION: A low power wireless communication module (300) maintains an active state by being supplied with power from a power supply unit even in an inactive state of a mobile terminal. If an application processor is in an inactive state, the low power wireless communication module is set up to block a signal which is inputted from the application processor. After the application processor is activated, a reset circuit (400) is inputted with a trigger signal from the application processor. The reset circuit initializes the setup of the low power wireless communication module based on the trigger signal.
