VASCULAR STENTING FOR ANEURYSMS Abstract An expandable device (30) implantable across an aneurysm in a blood vessel of a patient, the device (30) comprising: a length (3004) between a proximal end of the device (30) and a distal end of the device (30); a lumen (12) extending along at least a portion of the length (3004); and a plurality of strands (31, 32) braided together, at least some of said strands (31, 32) comprising a cobalt-nickel alloy and at least some of said strands (31, 32) comprising a platinum-tungsten alloy, wherein the device (30) has a porosity between said strands (31, 32) configured to direct blood flow away from an aneurysm and to allow blood flow to branch vessels when placed in a blood vessel, wherein the device (30) is expandable from a compressed state to an expanded state, and wherein the length (3004) of the device (30) in the expanded state is shorter than the length (3004) of the device (30) in the compressed state. |
