PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce such a degree that the posture (detection line q) of a detection means is shifted, as an inclination, from a tangential line of a first or second PNE outer diameter circle at each of first and second detection positions when the position of the detection means for detecting an outer diameter (PNE outer diameter) of a roll paper in a paper near-end state is adjusted from the first detection position to the second detection position, in a paper drop-in type printer.SOLUTION: Positions (p1, p2) of a detection means are set to intersection positions between a circle having the center at a turning center Q2 below the center of a winding core 18 when a roll paper 9 is fully consumed and first and second PNE outer diameter circles 1, 2. When the detection means is turned from a position p1 of the first PNE outer diameter circle 1 to a position p2 of the second PNE outer diameter circle 2, because a tangential line at the position p2 is turned in the same direction as the change in posture (inclination of detection line q) by the turning of the detection means, at the position p2 of the second PNE outer diameter circle 2, the shift as the inclination from the tangential line at the position p2 is reduced. |
