<p>The method involves fixing a cam (2) and/or a functional element and a tubular shaft (3) at an internal combustion engine by using an aluminum assembly body (5) that is introduced into the shaft. The cam is pushed into the shaft with clearance and held in an associated seat portion (11) of the shaft. The assembly body is cooled, introduced into the shaft through an axial opening (6) of the shaft and fixed in the seat portion. The assembly body is radially outwardly expanded by heating until a diametric deformation of the seat portion. The functional element is designed as a bearing ring, a case, a rotation transducer, a gear wheel, an alignment element or an auxiliary assembly element. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an assembly device for manufacturing a cam shaft (2) a cam shaft for an internal combustion engine.</p> |
