PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool and reinforce an integrated tundish cover without employing a cooling structure and without constructing a metal wire-netting and lattice-like support bars inside monolithic refractories in the inside.SOLUTION: In an integrated tundish cover 11, monolithic refractories 13 are constructed inside a frame steel plate 12 to cover an upper opening of a tundish. A structural member 14 serving also as heat radiation fins is attached to the outside of the frame steel plate 12. Also, insertion ports 15 for burners and a sampling port 16 for molten steel of the integrated tundish cover 11 are formed of cylindrical block refractories 17. In repairing work, only the cylindrical block refractories 17 that form the insertion ports 15 for the burners and the sampling port 16 for the molten steel of the tundish cover are replaced. There is no damage of refractories in boundary sections between divided covers. Also, the thermal distortion of the tundish cover is improved, the damage and exfoliation of opening sections are reduced, and the lifetime is improved which are effective in reducing the cost. |
