PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device having a touch panel function that allows for suppression of manufacturing variation and improvement of a yield, and to provide a manufacturing method of the display device.SOLUTION: The display device comprises: a glass substrate 46; a glass substrate 42 that is arranged spaced from the glass substrate 46 and is opposite the glass substrate 46; a lower electrode 38 that is formed on the glass substrate 46; a counter electrode that is opposite the lower electrode 38; a spacer ball 40 that supports the glass substrate 46 and the glass substrate 42 so as to maintain space between the glass substrate 46 and the glass substrate 42; a plurality of granular electric conductive grains 41 that is arranged between the glass substrate 46 and the glass substrate 42. A clearance is provided between the electric conductive grains 41 positioned on the lower electrode 38 and the counter electrode. The glass substrate 42 is pressed to allow the electric conductive grains 41 positioned on the lower electrode 38 to be in contact with the counter electrode.
