671,528. Seats. TRESCHOW, A. C. O., and OLSSON, T. G. Nov. 22, 1950. No. 28568/50. Class 52 (ii). A chair comprises two frames one at least of which is curved in side elevation adapted to be assembled in crossed condition one frame being passed through a slot, formed by transverse slats, in the other frame. As shown, a back frame 1 is provided with slats 2 forming the back rest and with slats 7 ... 10 forming slots between slats 7, 9 and 8, 10 respectively through which can be passed the other frame 5 which is provided with slats 6 on both upper and lower faces to provide rigidity. As shown in Fig. 2, the seat frame is reversed from that shown in Fig. 1 and is passed through the lower slot, i.e. between slats 8, 10, so giving the chair a more inclined position. The slats 6 project beyond the side members of the seat frame to prevent it passing completely through the back frame. In a modification, the back frame is provided with one slot only but the seat frame is provided with additional four slats to provide abutments for the back frame in two desired positions. |
