PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure that hardly causes cracking or breakage like ring off crack in regeneration.SOLUTION: A honeycomb structure is a pillar-shaped honeycomb structure having two or more cells disposed in parallel in a longitudinal direction across a cell wall. In the two or more cells, one end thereof is sealed. A catalyst is supported on at least a portion of the cell wall. When being seen at a longitudinally perpendicular cross-section of the honeycomb structure, assuming that a center of the cross-section is a center, a similar shape obtained by reducing a peripheral shape of the cross-section without changing a direction is drawn, wherein an enclosed area becomes 1/4 of an area of the cross-section. When a region enclosed with the similar shape is assumed to be a center side region, and a region outside than the similar shape is assumed to be an outer peripheral side region, a supported catalyst volume of the outer peripheral side region is larger than that of the center side region. |
