The backlit molded component (1) has a multilayer polyester film (11) that is provided with a metallic viewing surface in which a transparent or translucent plastic material (13) is back-filled. A screen-printed layer (12) is arranged between the multilayer polyester film and plastic material. Light sources (3,6) are mounted on the printing layer side remote from the multilayer polyester film. Two light exit regions (A,B) are provided in the multilayer polyester film for emitting light different from the light from the light sources. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing backlit molded component.
