PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a cooling function of a suppression pool to be maintained even when all AC power is lost.SOLUTION: A cooling device for a nuclear power plant comprises: a reactor core isolation cooling system constituted of a reactor core isolation cooling system steam turbine driven by steam in a reactor pressure vessel and a reactor core isolation cooling system pump driven by the reactor core isolation cooling system steam turbine to suck water in a suppression pool and inject the water into the reactor pressure vessel; and a residual heat removal system constituted of a residual heat removal system steam turbine driven by the steam in the reactor pressure vessel, a residual heat removal system pump driven by the residual heat removal system steam turbine to suck the water in the suppression pool, and a residual heat removal system heat exchanger cooling the water in the suppression pool sucked by the residual heat removal system pump by exchanging heat of the water with an external cooling system and returning the cooled water to the suppression pool.
