PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-osmotic dewatering method and an apparatus wherein dewatered filtrate of electro-osmotic dewatering is added to a water-containing matter like sludge to increase the electric conductivity of the sludge, and the moisture content of the dewatered matter is reduced, further reducing the moisture content of the dewatered matter efficiently. SOLUTION: A conveyer belt 1 made of filter cloth is endlessly stretched between the rollers 2, 3 to be endlessly rotated. Anode units 21-25 are disposed in the conveying direction of the belt conveyer 1. Filtrate gathered by a tray 6 in a first half of the dewatering process is led to a filtrate storage tank 8, and can be fed to a hopper 5 via a pump 9 and a pipe 10. The electric conductivity of the filtrate added to the sludge in the hopper 5 from the pipe 10 is 500 mS/m or more, particularly preferably 1,000 mS/m or more. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
