<p>In a display device capable of updating the display position of a light shield member of a slit image in response to the visual confirmation position of a viewer, a structure for suppressing brightness changes on the display screen when updating the display position of the light shield member of a slit image is implemented in a simple structure. A display device (1) is equipped with a main panel (2), a switch panel (3) for displaying a slit image, a backlight (4), a visual confirmation position detector (8) for detecting changes in the visual confirmation position of the viewer, a switch panel drive controller (6) and a backlight controller (7). When a change in the visual confirmation position of the viewer is detected, the switch panel drive controller (6) changes the display position of the light shield member displayed by the switch panel (3) in response to the change in the visual confirmation position. When a change in the visual confirmation position of the viewer was detected, the backlight controller (7) changes the brightness of the backlight (4) to suppress brightness changes in the image seen by the viewer.</p> |
