The electrical interconnection assembly has a connecting region (3) at which the first and second components (10,20) are connected to each other. An electrically conductive intermediate layer (30) is provided between the components such that the components are deformed and engaged in the connecting region. The melting temperatures of the components are set greater than the melting temperature of the material of the intermediate layer. The materials of the components are integrally connected to the material of the intermediate layer. An independent claim is included for method for connecting electrical components.
