PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater cruising device capable of dropping a small underwater cruising machine to a target point at a further high speed. SOLUTION: The underwater cruising device 16 includes an underwater cruising machine 17 having a camera, a weight 18, a linear member 32, a cable 34, winding devices 33 and 35, and a control device 36. The winding devices 33 and 35 are installed in a traversing truck 14. The linear member 32 to be wound by the winding device 33 is slidably attached to the weight 6 and is connected to a coupling device 26. The cable 34 to be removably attached to the coupling device 26 is connected to the underwater cruising machine 17. The linear member 32 is fed from the winding device 33, the weight 18 is passed through an upper lattice plate 5 and a core support plate 4, and is seated on a CRD housing 3. The winding device 33 winds the linear member 32 at a high speed, thereby dropping the underwater cruising machine 17 to the position of the weight 18 at a high speed.
