METHOD TO DEFINE RESISTANCE OF ENAMELLED WIRE INSULATION TO SURFACE DISCHARGE

FIELD: electricity.SUBSTANCE: method includes action of alternating current through flat metal electrode on a tested part of each wire sample. The electrode and tested part of a wire sample is placed into steel shot with a diameter less than double diameter of a grounded wire. Insulation resistance is assessed against time of voltage supply till insulation breakdown of the tested part of each wire sample by comparison of time values for different wire samples.EFFECT: improving contact of a wire sample with medium due to creation of testing conditions similar to operating conditions of windings, simplification of equipment manufacturing and fast implementation of the method.1 tbl, 2 dwg
