A method for controlling a digital image processing apparatus that searches a face region is provided to avoid continuous manipulation of direction buttons and zoom buttons in magnifying a face region of a person in a whole image. A digital camera processor displays a screen image and face images(S701), and the digital camera processor checks whether the first or second face image is selected by a user(S703). When one face image is selected, the digital camera processor obtains original image data of the face region from whole image data according to position information of the face region corresponding to the selected face image(S705). The digital camera processor enlarges an image of the face region by using the original image data and displays accordingly(S707). The digital camera processor displays an index image and marks the magnified face region to the index image(S709,S711). |
