<p>A travel control device that has: a side direction obstacle detection unit that divides the range from the side direction to the rear direction of a vehicle (1) into a plurality of detection angle areas (KR1-KR7), and detects an obstacle (61) that enters the plurality of detection angle areas and the distance to the obstacle (61), for each detection angle area; a rear direction movement preparation detection unit that detects preparation by a vehicle (61) to move in the rear direction; a warning unit that provides warning of the obstacle (61); a warning control unit that controls the warning unit such that a warning is provided if the distance to the obstacle (61) is no more than a working threshold value for warnings; and a threshold value control unit that detects preparation by the vehicle (61) to move in the rear direction, and if the obstacle (61) is detected in a prescribed detection angle area (KR6, KR7) being part of the rear direction side among the plurality of detection angle areas, before being detected in the other detection angle areas (KR1-KR5), raises the working threshold value such that the timing of the warning is earlier than when the obstacle (61) is detected first in the other detection angle areas (KR1-KR5).</p> |
