HOSE ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF FITTING A HOSE END COUPLING TO A HOSE

A hose assembly comprises a hose (1) having a body (60) and an end (13). A hose end coupling (15) is fitted to the hose end. The hose end coupling 15 comprises a band (3) and an insert (2), the band (2) being around a region of the hose adjacent the hose (end 3) and the insert (2) being inserted into the hose end (13). The hose end region is clamped between the band (3) and the insert (2). The outer diameter of the band (3) is less than the outer diameter of the hose body (60). The assembly is made by swaging the band (3).
